2120 Delaware Avenue Rental Unit Project

New Apartment Complex to Provide Employee Housing

As described in the UCSC Delaware Avenue project resource, the 2120 Delaware Avenue Rental Unit Project is a new apartment complex that will provide housing for more than 60 employees, offering convenient access to campus transit, nearby UC facilities, and the Coastal Rail Trail. The three-building complex will offer below-market-rate units and include affordable and moderate-income employee housing. Construction began in Summer 2024 and is expected to finish by Spring 2026. As part of UCSC’s plan to increase housing by over 40% by 2030, the project helps address the regional housing shortage while contributing to Santa Cruz’s smart-growth development.
